White powdery fungal growth on leaf surfaces. Common on cucurbits, peas, and many crops. Thrives in warm, dry conditions with cool nights.

Identification

White to gray powdery coating on upper leaf surfaces. Starts as small spots, spreads to cover entire leaf. Leaves may curl.

Damage & Symptoms

Reduced photosynthesis. Yellowing and browning of leaves. Premature leaf drop. Reduced fruit quality and yield.

Organic Control

Potassium bicarbonate spray. Neem oil. Milk spray (1:9 milk:water). Sulfur spray (not in heat). Bacillus subtilis.

Chemical Control

Myclobutanil. Chlorothalonil. Sulfur.

Prevention

Resistant varieties. Good air circulation (proper spacing). Avoid overhead watering. Morning watering. Remove infected leaves.
