Metaldehyde bait (toxic to pets and wildlife -- use iron phosphate instead). Methiocarb.
Prevention
Water in morning so surface dries by evening. Remove hiding spots. Rough mulch (wood chips vs straw). Encourage birds, toads, ground beetles.
